**《익명의 자칼: 데이터는 나를 대리하는가?》**는 구글 문서가 새로 접속한 유저에게 ‘익명의 동물’의 이름을 배정하는 것에서 착안, 대리적 자아가 부여되는 데이터 환경과 주체와의 관계를 탐구한다.
4명의 작가에게 ****데이터는 각각 편향된 성정체성, 개인의 역사, 디지털 시뮬레이션, 냉전시대 유령의 형상을 취한다. 이들은 각각 데이터와 주체와의 재귀적 관계를 영상 작품으로 풀어내는 과정을 통해 우리가 어떻게 데이터로 변환되어 존재하는지, 혹은 데이터가 어떻게 우리의 의사 결정, 행동, 심지어는 정체성까지도 모양짓는지를 시각화하여 보여줄 예정이다. 스크리닝 후에는 토크 프로그램을 통해 우리가 디지털 세계에서의 대리 행동자로서 어떻게 행동하고, 실제와 가상의 경계에서 우리 자신을 어떻게 재구성하는지를 질문하며 디지털 자아의 실체를 비판적으로 들여다볼 기회를 갖고자 한다.
《Anonymous Jackal: Data as the Proxy Self》 examines how Google Docs assigns "anonymous animal" names to new users, using this as a framework to explore the data environment and its role in representing the self. The project features four artists who address data from different perspectives: biased gender identities, personal histories, digital simulations, and Cold War-era apparitions. Their video works explore the recursive relationship between data and individuals, showcasing how we are transformed into data and how data influences our decisions, actions, and identities. A discussion program will follow the screening, probing how we navigate our roles as digital proxies and how we redefine ourselves at the intersection of the real and the virtual, critically reflecting on the essence of our digital identities.
